Beauty

Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Aniston. All in their forties but they look at least ten year younger. It may still be years away for us, but don’t we all want to look like them when we’re their age? The “best” anti aging skin care costs tons of money that we – poor students – unfortunately don’t have.

It’s winter, the time of dry skin. Wrong. Some of us are cursed with combination to oily skin. Cursed, because most high street foundations seem to be targeted at normal to dry skin. For those of us with oily skin, it’s hard to find the right foundation in Boots of Superdrug.

Dramatic eyes tutorial

One of my favourite make-up looks for a night out is to have dramatic smoky eyes that I believe can make any woman look flawless. Whatever colour eye you have this look will work.

Do you want to try this look but aren’t sure what make-up to use or how to approach it?

Everybody nowadays sings MAC’s praises claiming it will stay on ‘all night’ and that you ‘can’t get a better quality lipstick’. Personally, I’m not too sure. Is it really worth all that money and are there cheaper and better alternatives to MAC‘s lipstick range?

At the moment it’s all about carved out cheekbones à la Kim Kardashian. Brands such as Anastasia, Charlotte Tilbury and Kat von D battle each other for the best high-end contour kit. Luckily, contour kits are now taking over the high street.

It is scientifically proven that freshers week takes its toll on your skin, ok that is a bold statement and it might not be factual, but I can tell you from personal experience and talking to my friends it does.

Contour kits are taking over the high street. Equally important are contour brushes. That’s what Sam and Nic Chapman from Pixiwoo must’ve thought. They’ve just brought out their Real Techniques Sculpting Set.

A tip for any student running low on money is to find the ever so cheap Natural Collection stand in Boots where everything is £2 or below and 3 for 2 (that is music to my ears).
