My top three freshers skin scare survival essentials
Katherine Morten
It is scientifically proven that freshers week takes its toll on your skin, ok that is a bold statement and it might not be factual, but I can tell you from personal experience and talking to my friends it does.
The inevitable late nights as a fresher that is trying to keep up with all their new friends because the do not want to miss out and early mornings of those 9am shock to your system lectures, there is no doubt you will be run down and that will cause some damage to your skin.
The good thing about being a fresher is you have just recieved your student loan. Instead of splurging all of that money on nights and of course buying those extremely daunting reading list you need to get through in order to pass your degree, why not invest in some good skin care.
These 3 products have now got me through all the trials and tribulations of freshers week two years in a row and not only do I live by them I feel it is my obligation to pass on my skin care secrets.
Product 1: Soap and Glory: Peaches and Clean
Product 2: Dermol 500 Lotion
Product 3: Nivea Tinted Moisturiser Day Cream
I hope that this has helped you on your quest to keep your skin looking and feeling fresh during freshers week.
This wonderful creation is a 3-in-1 wash for the days when you were just to tired to take up your make-up the night before and your face is feel darn right nasty.
A couple of pumps of this is recommended every evening or morning and should be applied all over your face and neck.
Not only does it smell fantastic it revitalises your face and keeps it as smooth as a baby's bottom.

I suffer from quite severe eczema and have done since I was a baby. For those who do not know what is is, eczema is a condition that causes the skin to become itchy, red, dry and cracked.
There are many types of eczema and I have two, but I am sure I am not the only student at the University of Lincoln to suffer from it, that is why it is essential I share this with you.
It is very hard to find a cheap product that actually relieves the irritation, however this product is only £11.94 for a large 500ml in Llyods Pharmacy. Although that may seem expensive to some people, to my fellow eczema sufferers (you know who you are) it is a bargain.
This helps all year round, but it became my paradise for skin care when I was a fresher, when my skin was exposed to all the harsh new experiences such a drinking, eating crap food and generally trying to survive your first year at university.

Nivea tinted moisturiser is a god send in summer as it is all you need to get flawless coverage and contains Spf .15 to protect you from sunburn.
However in the cold autumn months, when you first step over that threshold of childhood into adulthood, meaning you have to learn to look after yourself at univerisity, this moisturising cream is great from protecting your skin from the harsh unpredicatble english weather.
I live by this product and wear it everyday, whether that underneath a light layer of foundation (which I only started wearing when I came to university) or by itself, it does my skin wonders.
I have been quite fortunate with spots, meaning I do not get many at, however when they do decide to greet me with their presence they could not pick more of an inconvenient time. I believe me spot free luck is down to the use of this product as it is just like an normal moisturiser but with the added bonus of a slight tan.
