Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair

Katherine Morten

The famous Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair returned to Lincoln on February 14th and what better way for you fashion lovers to spend Valentine’s day.

I went along to check out what the fair had to offer. It was only £2 to get in, so whether or not you bought anything, with the price tag of £2 it was a cheap nice day out with friends.

As you walked through the doors there was a classic vintage smell in the air, or to most people: the moth ball smell you get from opening the attic door. It is a bit like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. I am not going to lie to you I love it.

The fair most definitely had lots to offer, from getting your hair done swinging 60’s style, tea for two and most importantly, vintage fashion heaven.

Now, Judy’s Fair is famous for its affordable stamp and I can vouch for the name: yes, some things at the fair were complete bargains. Tops for a fiver, hats and scarfs for £3. However, there were a few things that seemed a bit steep, for second hand.

Things like coats neared the £40 price tag, which I myself had to steer clear of. But as a London girl, if I were to seek these items out in Brick Lane London, they are substantially more expensive. So in that sense Judy’s Fair is affordable.

If you are looking for a fun day out and a few bargains I would most definitely recommend going along to the fair next time it graces the walls of the Engine Shed on May 16th and take a look for yourself. However, girls you must remember it all depends on what you consider to be affordable.
