Monday Madness: 50% off food at The Slug and Lettuce

Katherine Morten

Being a student sometimes means counting the pennies and eating the weird food combinations you have left in the cupboard, which can result in great flavour combinations or what was I thinking.

The weekends are where us students spend our money whether that'd be a night out a The Superbull, eating junk food that has no nutritional value or deciding to watch a whole series of your favourite show on Netflix (don't deny it, we have all done this).

Well just because Monday comes around quicker than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, it does not mean you can't treat yourself and friends to a sophisticated meal.

Yes, I said it, a meal out with your friends and it isn't even someone's birthday.

The Slug and Lettuce is situated on Lincoln's high street, near the bottom of Steep Hill, opposite Tesco, next to Lola Lo's. You know where I mean. They are a great place to take advantage of on a Monday.

50% off your food bill. Not 20%, not the usual 30% that restaurants offer, but 50%. That is half price! As a student, take up this offer with open arms. Anything that is half price is fantastic.

Even if you are low on money and everytime you open the fridge expecting the magic fridge fairies to have delivered something new and you know you should do a food shop, go out, treat yourself. Let's be honest, you have probably had a hard day and deserve it.

Plus, if you have just moved here and the only evening out that you have had with your new flat mates have been in a club where you can barely hear what they are saying or they are slightly intoxicated, what a great sophisticated way to get to know them.

Who said it was a rule that students have to live a life of yesterday's tuna pasta or chicken nuggets and chips?
